James Lee Beam (DOB 1/11/97), of Oxnard, has been charged with the murder of Sibyl Woodbury which occurred on April 9, 2020, in Oxnard. The complaint charges one count of murder and a special allegation that Beam used a knife during the commission of the crime.
Beam appeared in court on April 17, 2020. He pled not guilty and his case was set for early disposition hearing on April 28, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 and for preliminary hearing and on May 1, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., in courtroom 14 of the Ventura Superior Court. Beam is currently in custody at the Ventura County jail with bail set at $1,010,000.
