VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Rodolfo Fernandez Franco (DOB 03/20/81), of Oxnard, has been arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes dating back to 2003. Franco is charged with one count of forcible rape, two counts of forcible oral copulation, and one count of assault with intent to commit rape. The charged crimes relate to three separate sexual assaults. The first is alleged to have occurred February 16, 2003, in Oxnard. The second is alleged to have occurred February 21, 2003, in Ventura. The most recent is alleged to have occurred December 20, 2020.
Franco appeared in court May 24, 2021, and pled not guilty to the charges. The case was continued to June 22, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court for an early disposition conference. Franco was ordered to be held in custody without bail.
The Oxnard Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation and believes there could be other victims who have not reported similar incidents to the police.
