Oxnard man sentenced to 6 years 8 months for multiple narcotics and firearms offenses
order arial, view sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>Superior Court Judge Dino Inumerable sentenced Martin Torres (DOB 8/8/80), ampoule of Oxnard, to six years eight months in the California Department of Corrections after a jury found Torres guilty of multiple narcotics and firearms related offenses, including possession for sale of methamphetamine while armed with a firearm, in violation of Health and Safety Code section 11378 and Penal Code section 12022(c), possession of assault weapons, in violation of Penal Code section 30605(a), and possession of large capacity ammunition magazines, in violation of Penal Code section 32310(a).
Torres was arrested June 2015 after a month-long, joint investigation into the narcotics and firearms trafficking of Oxnard-based criminal street gangs by the Special Crimes Unit of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. In total, the investigation resulted in the seizure of over one pound of heroin, 12 pounds of methamphetamine, $33,000 in cash, and 10 firearms, including three Tec 9 assault weapons.
