Oxnard man sentenced to over 42 years in prison
District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Jeremy Kingsley Austin of Oxnard, was sentenced following his jury conviction on April 2, 2014, for multiple violent felonies, including a home-invasion robbery with a firearm.
The crimes took place on May 4, 2004, and May 17, 2004, in the city of Oxnard. On May 4, 2004, Austin entered a residence with several other suspects while armed with a firearm. Austin stabbed, assaulted, and falsely imprisoned a person inside the home. On May 17, 2004, Austin and another suspect entered a separate residence in Oxnard and committed a residential burglary. Shortly thereafter, Austin was arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for similar crimes in Santa Barbara County.
Austin has been sentenced to a total of 42 years 8 months in prison for the crimes he committed in both Santa Barbara County and Ventura County.
