Oxnard moves to commend outgoing City Manager Nyhoff, appoint Police Chief Whitney as Interim CM

At tonight’s Council meeting, the City of Oxnard Council will consider commending outgoing City Manager Greg Nyhoff for his service in very difficult times and appointing Police Chief Scott Whitney to serve as Interim City Manager, along with his current assignment as Police Chief.


From 12-19-17 Oxnard City Council meeting agenda:

1. SUBJECT: Resolution Commending Greg Nyhoff. 
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council adopt a resolution commending Greg Nyhoff for over three years of service to the City of Oxnard.

2. SUBJECT: Appointment of Interim City Manager and Establishment of City Manager Recruitment Subcommittee (5/5/5) 
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council:
1. Appoint Scott Whitney to serve as Interim City Manager while continuing to serve as the City’s Police Chief, effective close of business January 5, 2018.
2. Establish an ad hoc subcommittee which would work with staff on issues related to the recruitment of a new City Manager.
