Oxnard PD Arrest Suspect for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

On June 11, 2017, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 200 block of East 7th Street reference a fight where one party was armed with a knife. Upon arrival, officers located one male victim who sustained a laceration to his forearm during the altercation. Angel Cerda, a 25-year-old Oxnard resident, was located in the area and contacted by officers.  Cerda was positively identified as the suspect by the victim and a witness who saw the fight. The victim was transported to St. John’s Regional Medical Center for his injury. Cerda was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and later booked at the Ventura County Jail.
