When officers arrived they attempted to contact two known probationers in the driveway. One subject, later identified as 18 year old Jordy Carrillo, fled into the residence. As officers gave chase through the house, Carrillo discarded a loaded handgun. Carrillo was previously convicted of several felonies and is prohibited from possessing firearms. The handgun was determined to be stolen out of the city of Moorpark. The other subject, 23 year old Francisco Rojo, had previously been served with one of Oxnard’s civil gang injunctions and was currently in violation of those terms.

Carrillo was arrested for resisting arrest, numerous gun violations and possession of a stolen firearm. Rojo was arrested for violating the gang injunction and for violating his probation.

The Oxnard Police Department continues to encourage residents to be partners in public safety as part of the Operation Safer and Stronger initiative. Anyone with information regarding criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Oxnard Police Department at (805) 385-7600, or you can remain anonymous by calling the Ventura County Crime Stoppers at (805) 222-8477.
