    Oxnard | Pedestrian dies in Traffic Accident

    Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release

    On January 6, 2020, at about 11:15 P.M., patrol officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the area of Ventura Road north of Fifth Street, in the City of Oxnard, regarding an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian.  EMS personnel arrived and transported a 44-year-old male pedestrian to Ventura County Medical Center.  The male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.

    Based upon preliminary investigation, the male was walking across the roadway of Ventura Road north of Fifth Street.  A silver Ford F150 travelling south on Ventura Road struck the male pedestrian.

    The driver of the Ford remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators.  Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in this collision.

    Investigators are asking the public to come forward if anyone has witnessed this incident.
