Oxnard Police able to stop suicide

At approximately 1:15pm in the afternoon, July 29th, Oxnard police officers responded to 300 Esplanade Drive where a 40 year old woman wanted to commit suicide. She was located on the roof of the building threatening to jump. Patrol officers and crisis negotiators spoke to the woman for approximately one hour and talked her off the roof.  She was taken to Ventura County Mental Health for treatment.

Due to the circumstances and sensitivity around this incident and the individual’s privacy, personal information will not be released.
