Oxnard Police arrest gang member for possesion of a semi-automatic handgun
On Sunday, November 23, 2014, at approximately 10pm, members of the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit were working gang enforcement in the city’s downtown. They conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Third Street and “B” St. One of the passengers was 30 year old Oxnard resident, Alvaro Cervantes.
Alvaro Cervantes is a known gang member, currently on probation and on the Colonia gang injunction. During a search of the vehicle a loaded semi-automatic handgun was recovered.
Cervantes was arrested for violation of the gang injunction and several firearm related charges.
