Oxnard Police arrest man for vandalizing in Camino Del Sol Park
thumb times; font-size: 16px;”>Thursday morning, July 31st, at approximately 5:40am in Oxnard police officers responded to Camino Del Sol Park located at 1500 Camino Del Sol reference citizens reporting a subject vandalizing property with a large metal pole.
The subject, identified as Oxnard resident Angel Jimenez, was located inside the park in possession of the metal pole and a pit bull. Officers attempted to negotiate with the subject, however, he was uncooperative and challenged the officers to shoot him. The subject was subsequently taken into custody for criminal threats and resisting arrest. The dog was captured unharmed and placed into the Ventura County Animal Shelter.
The Oxnard Police Department continues to encourage residents to be partners in public safety as part of the Operation Safer and Stronger Initiative. This is an excellent example of witnesses who saw suspicious activity, called the police, and provided the appropriate information.
