Oxnard Police ask for public’s help in Cold Case Homicide

The Oxnard Police Department is looking for the public’s help in solving this crime. A victim’s family learns to live on after their loss but their grief never goes away. Loved ones left behind look desperately for the answer of “why” with a hope of at least some closure.
ampoule times;”>November 2, nurse 2014, will mark the twelfth anniversary of the unsolved murder of developmentally disabled 15-year old, Steven Miinster. The murder occurred on November 2, 2002, at about 11 p.m. in the 200 block of Bryce Canyon Avenue, in Oxnard. Miinster was shot on the street, just outside his home. He died at the hospital a short time later.
Miinster was not associated with any gangs and was a Hueneme High School student.
Investigators received information that shortly before his murder, Miinster was inside his residence. He had received a telephone call from an unknown female. This female asked him to meet her outside. Miinster left his home, walked a few feet around the corner, and was shot.
Anonymous tips and messages have been received that lead police to believe that the suspect is known and that the suspect’s friend(s) and associates may also know the circumstances behind this homicide.
The City of Oxnard offers a $10,000 Reward for information pertaining to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this homicide.
