Oxnard police nab pair of car thieves

pilule times;”>At 10:30am, click Wednesday morning, February 4th,  members of the Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force observed a stolen Nissan Quest Van in the area of “H” Street and Erica Place. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle fled northbound on Ventura Road. Officers pursued it to the area of Moss Landing Blvd. and Kings River Dr. The suspects then fled on foot from and were apprehended a short time later.

The driver identified as Luis Arrellano was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and evading the police. The passenger identified as Richard Sandoval was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Both subjects are Oxnard residents.  They were booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.

The Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force was created to address stolen vehicle issues within the City of Oxnard. The Oxnard Police Department advises citizens to park their vehicles in well lit areas, lock their vehicles and use anti-theft devices to secure their vehicles.
