A brief summary of the Oxnard City Council 11-17-20 meeting:
Council: approved short term house rental regulations– only need Coastal Commission blessing (expected) in December- numerous owners upset tonight. Based on past meetings, more are happy and weren’t here to protest the fait accompli vote at this meeting; City announced CA “purple” lockdowns– more closings/restrictions; Flood plain management plan changes will limit some development, make residents eligible for discounted FEMA flood insurance rates; Oxnard Fire Dept wants to improve ambulance response time, faults ambulance company profiteering/lack of competition, county EMS priorities- Council approved study to help determine future approach; Tweaked 1100 housing unit, 53K sq ft commercial space Wagon Wheel development plan, which is far along in development; Finance appears to be making excellent progress in resolving the 158 negative audit “findings” of a few years ago, but not yet out of the woods; Police Chief Scott Whitney retires in December, Asst. Chief Jason Benites will step up to be Chief.

Where can we find the final short term house rental regulations?
They should be uploaded to the city website if not already there. You could also get them from the City Clerk.
Thanks!
