Oxnard Recreation Dept. turns lemons into lemonade

forced budget cuts/relocation turn out pretty well

Publisher’s note: When Oxnard was going through its most painful budget cuts, the Recreation & Community Services Department did  its part. The deep cuts implemented- major personnel and expense reductions- were as severe or more so than any other department. They achieved a major reduction by relocating to an unoccupied city building space, using scavenged, hand-me down furniture and fixtures, while ending up with a nice result. Director Terrel Harrison took me on a tour of the nearly finished facility a few weeks ago.
