VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Dionicio Salinas (DOB 10/02/91) was sentenced by Judge Gilbert Romero to 17 years 8 months in state prison for a series of violent crimes.
On June 2, 2021, Salinas plead guilty to multiple charges including, two counts of carjacking, robbery, kidnapping, felony evading, and felony hit-and-run based on two separate events. In November 2017, Salinas and an unknown co-conspirator kidnapped a victim in the City of Oxnard, robbed him of his wallet and carjacked his vehicle. Salinas was apprehended after a police pursuit ended in the City of Camarillo. During the pursuit, Salinas struck a vehicle containing an elderly couple.
In March 2018, Salinas and another co-defendant carjacked a victim’s vehicle in the City of Oxnard. He was apprehended later that night in Los Angeles, after a high-speed pursuit through residential neighborhoods. The cases were investigated by the Oxnard Police Department.
