    Jesus Martinez 22 Year Old Oxnard Resident

    On 02/16/2020, at approximately 5:49 p.m., Officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to the 2700 block of South “C” Street in reference to a stabbing victim. When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old male victim who was suffering from numerous stab wounds to his upper body.  Officers located a possible suspect a few blocks away.  The suspect, Jesus Martinez, was later positively identified by the victim as the person who stabbed him.

    Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded to assist. Based on preliminary information, it appears that the victim and an additional 21-year-old Oxnard resident were involved in a fight.  During the fight, Jesus Martinez intervened and stabbed the victim several times. 

    Martinez was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and was transported to the Ventura County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
