Oxnard–suspect released under Public Safety Realignment arrested for stolen vehicle, loaded handgun and narcotics
sales times; font-size: 16px;”>Officers located a stolen black 2005 Mercedes Benz sedan in the 2600 Block of South Ventura Road this after around 2pm. The suspected driver of the vehicle, clinic later identified as Timothy Dalrymple, online date of birth 11-19-77, fled on foot. An officer chased and apprehended Dalrymple.
Dalrymple was found in possession of a loaded .308 caliber handgun and narcotics. He also had an outstanding PRO warrant for failing to report. Dalrymple was arrested for the stolen vehicle (10851 CVC), possession of a narcotics and a handgun (11370.1 H&S), as well as other gun violations.
Dalrymple is currently in the Post Release Offender Program, created by Assembly Bill 109 – the 2011 Public Safety Realignment – which was effective October 1, 2011. This program mandates that individuals sentenced to non-violent, non-serious or non-sex offenses will serve their sentences in county jails instead of state prison. The public should be aware that release under AB 109 is based on the offender’s most recent commitment offense, prior convictions are not considered.
An investigation is continuing.
