dosage arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>On June 16, 2016, officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) were conducting uniform gang enforcement in area of Lupita St and First St. where they conducted a traffic stop regarding a traffic violation.
SEU officers contacted Jose Salazar and another subject in the vehicle. Salazar is a known member of an active street gang and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia. During a search of the vehicle a loaded revolver was located.
Salazar was arrested for weapons and narcotics related charges. The second subject was released from the scene.
The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit is committed to reducing gang crimes and gun violence in the City of Oxnard through the strict enforcement of laws specifically targeting known, active gang members residing in the city. Citizens are reminded to contact the Police Department when they observe suspicious activity or are witnesses to a crime.
