    Oxnard | Traffic stop results in firearm and narcotics arrests

    On January 18th, 2020 at 11:20 PM, two Oxnard Police Officers conducted an enforcement stop on a black Ford SUV in the 1700 block of Ukiah Street for vehicle code violations.  Luis Villa, a passenger in the vehicle, immediately fled on foot.  Officers gave chase and observed Villa discard a firearm as he ran.  Villa was apprehended after a lengthy foot chase and officers recovered a loaded revolver in the area Villa was observed discarding it.

    The firearm that was discarded during the chase was found not to be registered to Villa.  Villa was charged with several firearms related violations.   

    A second passenger in the vehicle was arrested for misdemeanor narcotics violations.
