Oxnard Wal Mart evacuated because of suspicious device

pills arial, case sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>On June 18, 2016, at 11:28 a.m., Oxnard Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to a suspicious device at the Wal Mart located at 2701 Saviers Rd.  When police and fire personnel arrived, they located a bowl containing a mixture of bubbling chemicals.  The bowl also had an electrical cord, which was plugged into an outlet, dipped into the substance.

As a safety precaution, Wal Mart was evacuated while the substance was examined by the Oxnard Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Unit.  The F.B.I. field office and Ventura County Bomb Squad were also consulted.  After several hours on scene, the Hazardous Materials Unit determined that the suspicious substance was non energetic.  The substance was removed and evidence was collected at the scene.  Video of the possible suspect was collected, and the image of the subject is below.
