Pacific Festival Ballet to Debut World Premiere of Camelot Ballet in Thousand Oaks, California

Pacific Festival Ballet is set to debut the layered ballet performance of love story Camelot – in a new and exciting production at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza on Saturday, May 18 at 2 and 7 p.m.

This full-length production was developed entirely by artistic director Kim Maselli – former ABT dancer/accredited teacher and series regular of hit TV series FAME, as well as Hollywood composer Eric Allaman. Together they have created three original ballets, each distinctively featuring aerial performers, mixed media scenery, and Allaman’s original music scores.

“In my opinion, dance needs fresh stories. It can’t thrive on innovative interpretations of choreography alone, said Eric Allaman, composer of Camelot. “These fresh productions will create opportunities for new stars, which in turn will generate excitement and bring newfound fans to the world of dance.”

Allaman’s melodious score for Camelot was recorded by a 50-piece professional orchestra in Skopje, Macedonia. Eric Allaman is an American composer who has worked in Film, Television, Theater and Ballet. His career as a film composer began when he co-composed the score to Ridley Scott’s, “Legend” with Tangerine Dream. He has scored over 30 movies and over 500 episodes of television and is best known for his scores to LegendBattleship PotemkinLatter DaysWitless ProtectionMike Hammer Private EyeExtreme Makeover: Home Edition and Dante’s Cove.

Camelot features a cast of 80 dancers including an impressive roster of professionals, Jonathan Sharp as King Arthur, Jackson Stewart as Sir Lancelot and the YouTube sensation, 18 year old Queen Guinevere – Luna Hoetzel https://www.youtube.com/user/lunamoonae15 .  With more than 100 custom bedazzled costumes, and talent from all aspects of the theatrical world, this enchanting story can come to life. Every detail has been accounted for, from elaborate stallion headpieces for the knights to the intricate design of Excalibur.

“What excites me about our original work “, says Angelino Kim Maselli, artistic director and choreographer of Camelot.  “is to see the overwhelming response from the ballet novice and enthusiast alike. My goal is to inspire new ballet audiences by bring this beautiful art form into the 21st century with fresh twist.”

Ultimately, The Camelot Ballet is designed to live on through performances by other companies throughout the United States.
