Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release
On Friday January 8th, 2021 at approximately 12:46am officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of Dartmouth Road for a traffic infraction. Upon contacting the two occupants it was determined the passenger provided a false name.
Once his true identity was determined, Martin Santillan age 26 of Ventura, it was found he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. A search prior to being transported revealed 3.1 grams of methamphetamine in his possession and a methamphetamine pipe. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded syringe with methamphetamine, several scales with white residue on them, and a pellet pistol that was under Santillan’s front seat. Upon contacting the driver, identified as Veronica Garcia age 38 of Santa Paula, an investigation was conducted and was found to be concealing 37.25 grams of methamphetamines in her undergarments.
Both subjects were arrested and transported to Santa Paula Police Department and later to Ventura County Main Jail. Garcia was arrested for possession for sales/transport, and possession of a controlled substance. Santillan was arrested for the misdemeanor warrant, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a smoking device, and providing false information to a police officer.
