The passenger in the Northbound vehicle was complaining of numerous injuries and the door was caved-in, which required mechanical extrication to get the patient out of the wreckage.

Fire paramedics secured both vehicles and provided medical care. Medic Truck 5 used the Jaws-of-Life to cut and pry through the vehicle, pulled the door off the vehicle and gently removed the passenger from the car. The extrication took 11 minutes and the patient was quickly transported to the local trauma center.
