PORAC was incorporated in 1953 and is recognized as the state’s largest public safety organization, with over 66,000 members.

“As a former law enforcement officer, Congressman Knight has dedicated many years to protecting and serving the public,” stated Michael Durant, President of PORAC. “Knight has proven to be a fierce supporter of the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our streets and he understands firsthand the daily struggles that our law enforcement personnel face. We are proud to support Congressman Knight for re-election.”

Congressman Knight is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as an LAPD officer for 18 years. In 2005, Knight was elected to the Palmdale City Council, and went on to serve in the State Assembly and State Senate where he worked to promote economic growth and public safety.

“Every single day, our law enforcement officers lay it all on the line in order to keep our streets safe and our neighborhoods free of crime,” said Congressman Knight. “They deserve our respect and as your Congressman, I will make sure they have the support they need in order to safely carry out their duties.”

Knight currently represents the residents of California’s 25th Congressional District, which includes the Antelope, Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys. He serves on the House Committees on Armed Services, Small Business, and Science, Space and Technology. While in Congress, the Congressman has focused his efforts on defending small businesses, protecting veterans, growing the economy, and increasing public safety.
