    Pedestrian hit in Thousand Oaks Traffic Accident

    On September 12, 2020, at about 8:30 am, the Thousand Oaks Police Department, American Medical Response (AMR) and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian injury traffic collision on Westlake Blvd. just north of Bay Dr. Upon arrival, deputies and AMR rendered aid to the pedestrian struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital by AMR and is being treated for his injuries.

    The initial investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling northbound on Westlake Blvd. and the pedestrian was walking northbound on Westlake Blvd. in the bicycle lane when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into the Ventura Main Jail.

    The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Deputy Jason Cashmark at (805) 947-8271.
