Pelosi Blames News Media For Failing To Push Her Agenda

In China, the government, through its Chinese Communist Party, owns the major media outlets and naturally, controls what they report.

The Council on Foreign Relations event even describes China as having “one of the world’s most restrictive media environments,” and confirmed the government uses libel lawsuits, arrests and “other means” to make sure its message is prominent.

In 2017 alone 38 journalists were jailed.

Now House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is known for ruling her Democrat Party with an iron fist, is complaining that American reporters aren’t doing enough to sell her ideas to the public.

She was responding to a question from Nikole Killion of CBS, who asked, regarding Pelosi’s failure to assemble her own party majority to all support her infrastructure and social spending programs, totaling some $4.5 trillion, “Do you think you need to do a better job at messaging, and going forward, how do you sell this?”

Pelosi was blunt, “Well I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you.”

She complained the media has failed to do “justice” to the items she wants, such as Family Medical Leave.

“Every time I come here, I go through the list … It is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package,” she said.

She pointed out that the bill has a lot of things she likes in it, and as for the American public, “Whether they know it or not, they overwhelmingly support it.”

Fox News reports the massive spending explosion Pelosi and Joe Biden want – some $4.5 trillion for infrastructure and social and green programs – has been a source of pain for Democrats as their own factions have been unwilling to come to an agreement.

At least two Democrat senators, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia, say it’s too much spending.

Claims by Pelosi and Biden that the spending costs “zero dollars” also have been widely ridiculed.

And it what appears to be an acknowledgement of defeat, the Washington Examiner reports, Pelosi is admitting the special $3.5 trillion spending on many social programs likely will have to be cut to about $2 trillion.

“The fact is there are fewer dollars to spend, there are choices to be made, and the members have said let’s get the results we need, but we will not diminish the transformative nature of what it is.”

In a memo to Democrats on Monday, Pelosi said the package will have to do “fewer things” but she still wants those issues done “well.”

Democrats had established their demands for free preschool, free community college, extended child tax credits, paid family and medical leave, expanded Medicare benefits, green energy policies, and much more in their original plan.
