The Simi Valley Police Department would like to alert the community to a recent phone scam. Community residents have received messages from a caller claiming to be Commander Al Thompson with the Simi Valley Police Department. The message indicates the residents have outstanding arrest warrants for missing jury duty and provides an unknown phone number to call back. The scammer(s) also spoofed their phone number to fool Caller ID to show the call originated from the Simi Valley Police Department.
The Simi Valley Police Department did not make any of these calls and did not leave any messages. We are advising Simi Valley residents to hang up on these type of callers, not to return their calls, and not to follow their instructions. Please share this information with your neighbors, friends, and family.
