NEWS RELEASE
On Friday, February 17th, 2023, at approximately 6:15 AM, Port Hueneme Police
Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a homeowner who found an unknown subject inside
his residence. The caller stated he awoke to noises coming from inside his home. He
went to investigate and located a suspect inside his bathroom.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male, 20’s, medium build, light grey hooded
sweatshirt. He fled from the residence in an unknown direction. At approximately
6:30am, Dispatch received another call from a residence nearby in the 400 block of Las
Palomas regarding a subject prowling near the residence. The suspect fled eastbound
towards Patterson Road from this location.
Port Hueneme Police Officers and Detectives remained in the area checking for the
suspect. At 0810 hours, a resident in the 400 block of Reed Way call 9-1-1 to report a
subject in her rear yard. The suspect description matched the prior incidents. It was
determined the suspect ran through a front yard of another home in the 400 block of Las
Palomas and jumped into the rear yard of Reed Way.
The Port Hueneme Police Department wants our residents to be aware of these
incidents and to remember to lock all doors and windows. If you see anyone matching
the description of the suspect or recognize the photo released, please do not confront
the suspect, call 9-1-1. No victims were injured during any of the calls for service.
