Planned Parenthood in alliance with Democrats are the main supporters of Comprehensive Sex Education. In early May, Dr. Leana Wen, who at the time was head of Planned Parenthood, joined House Oversight Committee Chair Elijah Cummings (D-MD) who died Oct. 17 along with pro-choice caucus chair Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA, 13th district, Oakland) and women’s caucus chair Brenda Lawrence (D-MI, 14th district) at a press briefing in which they praised the introduction of the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act (REHYA) of 2017 sponsored by Rep. Lee and the 2019 bill passage sponsored by New Jersey Senator Cory Booker. It funded sex education teacher training and the Youth Access to Sexual Health Services Act (YASHS) of 2017 and 2019 sponsored by Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI). Tat provides grants to marginalized youth to sexual health services, sex education and contraception.
The abortion chain’s (Planned Parenthood) brand of sex education focuses on contraception, abortion, and LGBTQ sex—with it’s programs receiving federal funding.
Planned Parenthood’s web site boasts that it is the “nation’s largest provider of sex education, reaching 1.2 million people a year.” The same web site contests that number and states that Planned Parenthood education staff reaches “1.5 million individuals each year, and 64 percent of those individuals are middle school and high school-aged youth.”
Planned Parenthood’s web site gives facts about Comprehensive Sex Education, Sex Education Resources and How Planned Parenthood teaches and advocates for Equity in Sex Education. Their web site also lists the Digital Tools, STD videos and lesson plans it has developed to enhance sex education as well as have a search button to find a Planned Parenthood education program near you.
Meanwhile, opposing websites (Live Action) posted “Planned Parenthood endorsed sex ed curriculum traumatizes pre-teen girl” and Megan Fox of PJ Media posted on April 3: “Parents stage walkout over Planned Parenthood’s Graphic, Violent Sex Ed in Public Schools” and on April 6: “Exposed: Planned Parenthood’s Degenerate ‘Comprehensive Sex Education’ Lesson Plans.”

The Obama administration eliminated all funding for sex education programs that stress abstinence and instead promoted comprehensive sex education programs promoted by Planned Parenthood and LGBTQ rights groups.
The Trump administration has cut millions of dollars from Obama-era Teen Pregnancy Program (TPP) grants to Planned Parenthood after data revealed the programs were not effective.
State Departments of Education and State Superintendents of Public Instruction are also pushing for the Comprehensive Sex Education frameworks being adopted nationwide in collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations that promote and protect the sexual and reproductive health of youth.
The California Department of Education is relying for curriculum guidance on the Adolescent Sexual Health Work Group which is comprised of program managers from the California Department of Public Health.
In June of 2016, a group of eight reviewers gave curriculum guidelines for the California Healthy Youth Act (AB 329 which went into effect on Jan. 1, 2016) for school district staff and community education providers and also to curriculum publishers and authors particularly for middle school and high school students. Some of the controversial sex education curriculum includes: Flash; Teen Talk; Positive Prevention Plus; Rights, Respect, Responsibility; Make Proud Choices (CA Edition); and Be Real, Be Ready.

Is there any republican politician that can address the federal funding that goes to planned parenthood?
They want to peddle their degradation of sex, let them be funded by people that agree with them, not the tx payer at whole.
