Pleasant Valley Lions Donate to Salvation Army’s Holiday Assistance Efforts

The Pleasant Valley Lions Club has donated $2,000 to support the Salvation Army’s efforts to feed families in need during the holiday season.  The contribution from the Lions will go toward the purchase of complete turkey dinners for low-income families.  Approximately 40 households will benefit from this donation.

The Salvation Army Southern CA Division serves the communities of Camarillo, Oxnard, and Port Hueneme.  This division, located on Wooley Road in Oxnard, has one of the few free dental clinics in Ventura County; services are provided by volunteer dentists in the facility’s two professional dental chairs.  For more information, please go to, or call (805) 483-9235.

Since this past July, the PV Lions have been involved in 112 community activities, with over 6,300 hours contributed by club members.  The Lions have raised over $101,000 during this period, and donated over $47,000 to worthy causes in Camarillo and Ventura County.

The Pleasant Valley Lions meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, at 7:00 p.m., in the Freedom Center at Camarillo Airport.  The Lions have been providing assistance and monetary contributions in the community since 1945.
