This Saturday, August 24, the Pleasant Valley (PV) Lions Club will hold a special shopping day so that over 40 kids in need can purchase back-to-school clothes. Along with the PV Lions, members of the Lions Amber’s Light Club will also take part in the event at the Target store in Camarillo.
Each child will be paired with a Lion and/or Amber’s Lion to shop for new clothes. The shopping will begin when the store opens at 8 a.m. In 2018, gift cards for up to $150 were provided to 46 kids to buy clothes for the new school year.
After their shopping is completed, the kids and their families will receive breakfast, courtesy of McDonalds in Camarillo.

The PV Lions meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, at 7 p.m., in the Freedom Center at Camarillo Airport. The Lions have been providing assistance and monetary contributions in the community since 1945.
