POLITICALLY INCORRECT ZONE: NASA discovers Elvis at ‘Alien Megastructure’ next to Walmart in Space

shop arial,sans-serif;”>For years now, many on the political right have insisted that modern scientists have become agendized, and allow personal, and even corruption-based biases to steer their findings on key issues such as Global Warming. And while I’m aware that anyone is subject to be biased in ways they may not be fully aware of, I always thought that this was less of an issue among true scientists, simply because of the fact-based conclusions of the scientific method.

An item from yesterday’s news, however, shattered that illusion for me. Allow me to be blunt: I too, now realize, that scientists are full of crap!

The eye-opening news item stated that NASA’S Kepler Space Telescope may have discovered a huge “alien megastructure” orbiting a faraway star, based on periodic dips in the star’s brightness, among other clues. Normally such dips in brightness indicate possible planets orbiting a star, but because of irregularities in the timing of the dips, and the shape of the objects causing the dips, NASA has all but ruled out the prospect of round planets causing the dimming light.

But far more likely than an “alien megastructure,” several natural, more rational explanations exist. A clump or field of comets in that star system would make sense, and even the unlikely possibility of a planetary collision (and its debris field) would be more believable than an “alien megastructure.”

But space scientists have now decided that trying to bleed taxpayers out of more budget funds by tantalizing us with science fiction fantasies is justified. Scientists have stooped to the level of politicians and the media, and are sidestepping the truth in order to tell us what we want to hear! And my friends, I find it maddeningly insulting.

And here’s the kicker: If NASA scientists are willing, AND ABLE, to place such ludicrous headlines in serious scientific news publications such as Discovery, among others, then what credibility do they have when they make their wild claims about Global Warming?

So here’s my tip of the day for NASA: Want to all but guarantee an increase for your budget? Tell us about the evidence you found on Mars that ELVIS is alive – that he built a casino there. I guess you could call it an “alien megastructure” too!
