POLITICALLY INCORRECT ZONE: Operation Jade Helm–Playing war in your backyard

Political-correctnessBy Kevin Harris

This summer, Operation Jade Helm kicks off in the southwestern U.S. Jade Helm will consist of a series of detailed military drills involving all four branches of the U.S. military as they conduct “hostile take-over” training on domestic civilian soil. The massive exercises include some where soldiers will be without uniforms, with the goal to see if they can infiltrate local populations undetected.

Many citizens are concerned that Jade Helm is primarily about the military preparing to enact Martial Law, while others think it could be practice for World War III. Though at one time it might have been be easy to dismiss such concerns as typical right-wing paranoia, in our current political environment, those thoughts do not seem like a stretch at all.

We have a government, from top to bottom, that freely and knowingly operates outside of constitutional bounds, with the full blessings of congress, the higher courts, the media, and even the government watchdogs and justice department. Though most people are blissfully unaware, we are in the midst of a full constitutional crisis. Based on what our government HAS been getting away with, it terrifies me thinking about what the government CAN get away with. The current Jade Helm does not set my mind at ease.

So I’m just thinking out loud here, but maybe we citizens should consider having our own exercise drills. You know, say, a “free citizens protecting our nation and our Constitution from aggressive, tyrannical government forces” kind of thing.

We would do it responsibly – post flyers in all the newspapers in areas where the drills would take place, get re-enactment folks to dress up as government soldiers and armed federal agency tyrants, round them up into internment camps, etc. To borrow a line from the movie Jurrasic Park, we would spare no expense!

I’m going to ask you to really think about this for a moment… the fact that your government will A) ignore any demands from its citizens to cease and desist from doing the Jade Helm exercises, and B) your government will not allow its citizens to conduct their own version of Jade Helm exercises. Kind of sounds like a military dictatorship as opposed to a constitutional republic, doesn’t it?
