Veterans for Mike on Facebook
Valencia, CA – The Mike Garcia for Congress campaign today launched Veterans for Mike, a coalition of more than 200 veterans supporting Mike Garcia, former Navy fighter pilot and Republican candidate for Congress in CA-25.
“Having served in the Navy as a fighter pilot, I know first-hand the sacrifices of America’s heroes, and I will fight every day in Congress to get our veterans the support they need and deserve in Washington,” Garcia said.
Mike Garcia is a highly decorated Navy fighter pilot who flew over 30 combat missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
“As a Vietnam veteran myself, I hear the sincerity Mike has in helping veterans, young and old,” Bob Martinez, USMC (Retired) of Simi Valley said. “Mike is a combat Navy veteran who made it back home safely, which gives him an opportunity to give back to our grateful nation under God.”
The campaign today also launched the Veterans for Mike Facebook page where veterans can highlight their support for Mike.
“I am a combat Vietnam Veteran and my strong beliefs in protecting America’s sovereignty and our traditional American values are principles that I hold dear. Many of my friends spilled blood and sacrificed their lives fighting for these same beliefs,” Bill Reynolds, Sergeant E-5, Army, 9th Infantry Division (Honorable Discharge) of Santa Clarita said. “Mike Garcia, also a combat Veteran, embodies these prized principles which is exactly why I, and many of my fellow Veterans, have thrown our full support to his candidacy for Congress.”
Veterans who served with Garcia are supporting his candidacy.
“Mike and I served in combat together over the skies of Iraq and there is no one I would trust more to represent me in Congress” Jake Ellzey, Commander U.S. Navy (retired) said. “He is a leader of leaders and a patriot with unparalleled intelligence and love for country. He is truly a great American and he will make California’s 25th District proud.”
Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer. Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life. Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program as one of the top GOP candidates in the country.
The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley. The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.
