POLITICS – Race for District 25 |Caught on Zoom! Christy Smith No Longer Silent, Solidifies Hypocrisy Begging DCCC for Help

Valencia, CA – Following days of silence and calls by the Mike Garcia campaign to fess up, Christy Smith confirmed to voters that she is a hypocrite when it comes to her supposedly rejecting lobbyist and corporate PAC dollars. In a Zoom Town Hall this week, Christy Smith admitted she’s “moving on all fronts” to secure funding from Washington organizations who are heavily funded by lobbyists and corporate PAC’s.

“The more things change, the more they stay the same – Christy Smith for years accepted millions from organizations funded by lobbyists and corporations, but now after supposedly swearing off lobbyist and corporate PAC money she’s begging for help from the D.C. insiders who are bankrolled by the very folks she claims to reject,” Lance Trover, Mike Garcia Campaign Spokesman said.

Smith has claimed she wouldn’t accept lobbyist and corporate PAC money despite  accepting more than $1.3 million from the California Democratic Party, an organization partially funded by corporate and business donation.

In a now curiously missing tweet, Smith claimed it was OK to accept corporate PAC money, then flip-flopped to claim she would only refuse tobacco, oil and pharma money only to later claim she will refuse all corporate money.

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer.  Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life.  Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program as one of the top GOP candidates in the country.

The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.
