POLITICS | Race for the 25th – Garcia Campaign Releases First Ad of General Election: Run

Where I come from, we flew towards the fight. Career politicians run from it.”
Valencia, CA – The Mike Garcia for Congress campaign today released the first ad of the November general election. “Run” highlights Mike Garcia’s family’s history as first generation Americans and his service as a Navy fighter pilot, flying over 30 combat missions.

The ad draws a sharp contrast between Garcia’s status as a political outsider who served for 19 years in the United States Navy versus that of career politicians who run from the hard fights.

“Run” – Mike Garcia for Congress
    Run” Script

    Mike Garcia:

My dad is a first-generation Mexican-American who immigrated here when he was nine years old.

My stepfather’s stories from Vietnam set me on my path to the Naval Academy.

I ended up flying over 30 combat missions.

My service didn’t end when I stepped out of the cockpit for the last time.

I’m a fighter pilot and not a career politician.

Where I come from, we flew towards the fight.

    Career politicians run from it.

I’m Mike Garcia and I approve this message.

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer.  Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life.  Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was elected to Congress on May 12, 2020, winning a Special Election with 55% and becoming the first California Republican to flip a Democrat seat since 1998.

The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.
