The Road to Tyranny by Don Jans

Politics | Social Justice Commission Proposal for the City of Thousand Oaks

    Politics

    By Mandy Jacobs

I am writing today in response to public comments made at last week’s city council meeting where a multitude of people pushing the equity agenda disparaged the council, our community, and those among us who do not believe America is a terrible, systemically racist nation. I take offense to their blanket allegations of racism based on the color of my skin, our TO values, and having different beliefs than them. Their logic is devoid of hard evidence, in fact, the evidence suggests otherwise. The United States is the LEAST racist of any multi-cultural nation. There are multiple scholars who have argued that the disparities we see are not because of racism, but because of decades-long poor policies, like incentivizing fatherlessness and lack of school choice, that have not served minority communities. Scholars such as Thomas Sowell, Robert Woodson, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Shelby Steele, all pioneers from the civil rights movement, have come to similar conclusions. Could the agenda be any clearer? The documentary, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words”, was removed from streaming by Amazon during Black History Month. The equity elite cancelled Justice Clarence Thomas. Why? He doesn’t fit their narrative.

I have been a tax paying resident in Thousand Oaks for XXX years. I voted you into office and I stand by you and want you to know you’re supported. DO NOT bow to this outside pressure and agenda. Your constituents will be at the meeting tomorrow night to talk about the all inclusive Thousand Oaks that we know and love. Thank you for your unwavering service. We by no means need a social justice/equity commission. Remember that Californian’s spoke loud and clear in the last election, rejecting the attempt to repeal Prop 209 which ensures people are not discriminated against, or given preferential treatment for, their race, sex, age, religious beliefs, etc.

The Council’s time would be better spent on current issues effecting our city, namely the General Plan, sewer/traffic issues, resuscitating struggling business from COVID lockdowns, and improving our public education, requiring civics so our young people learn what an exceptional Republic our founders created for this nation, for our people to have the God-given inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The fundamental transformation of Ventura County into Western European ‘values’ is clearly not enough for the bigoted, Marxist Democrats in Thousand Oaks and Camarillo.

Both cities now inch toward a South Africa-like existence, with the same corruption, balkanization and eventual Communist violence.

Wherever politicians put an adjective in front of the word ‘justice’ and make it policy, injustice is always the result. This fits a visible pattern, folks.

Communists are taking over city councils one at a time. 2020 landed 2 on the Camarillo city council, and they are currently attempting to shame the city into defunding the police. Review your leaders, and recall those with Social Justice agendas. They have no place controlling policy
