Tom Dunn is a Port Hueneme civic activist working to restore PH financial and governmental stability. He heads the Port Hueneme Coalition of Concerned Citizens (PHCCC). He is retired- was a sales executive for major health care manufacturers and a small business owner.
The California Policy Center identified 58 cities in 2013 that had outstanding debt obligation, and Port Hueneme is on that list.
I find this intriguing, as will most people.

BTW, a half-cent sales tax measure is not the solution…A utility user tax (measure G) approved about six years ago appears to have been approved a few years following pension increase from 2% to 2.7%….
I have a few suggestions…
1. Dissolve the PHPD…contract with VCSD
2. Outsource sanitation (trash collection)…
3. Reduce the 2.7% @ 55 Pension…
4. Conduct a user fee study…and incorporate annual CPI padjustments to keep up with inflation.
5. Outsource landscape services…
6. Outsource the housing dept/div. to VCHA…
7.
Contact officials also.
