Former Port Hueneme Councilman and current candidate Ellis Green was terminated in his employment with Ventura as the City’s Risk Manager in 2015. He has filed a complaint for wrongful termination. Green, a 62 year old black male professional, cited harassment, ageist, racist and sexist profane comments and various accusations of lying and dishonesty (all denied) shouted and screamed at him by his supervisor, HR Director Jennifer Curtis.

He said that other defendants, names withheld in the complaint, also did this and that the City failed to act on his complaints about it.

He had serious kidney disease years before Curtis came on the scene, but was able to manage with dialysis and some work schedule accommodations, under Ventura’s ADA  (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance plan, before Curtis came on the scene, he claimed in the complaint.

Green is suing for economic and emotional damages, as well as legal costs. There’s more, in the complaint, below.

Green’s Counsel is well-known local attorney Ron Bamieh, along with David R. Ring.
