Port Hueneme PD recover bike stolen from Elderly resident’s garage

Port Hueneme Police Department – Incident Press Release  

On May 8, 2017 at 12:55 PM, a senior police officer from the Port Hueneme Police Department stopped an individual in the 500 Block of Hueneme Road for committing a traffic violation while riding a bicycle.

During the officer’s contact with the rider he discovered that she had just stolen the bicycle from an open garage in the 500 Block of Village Road, which is the neighborhood the officer saw her coming from. The suspect was uncooperative and also resisted arrest.

Additional officers assisted and confirmed that the bicycle had been taken from a garage and the elderly victim was home at the time. The victim had also talked  with the suspect just prior to the theft.

The suspect, identified as Violet Cline, a 24 year old Oxnard resident, was arrested for residential burglary, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace  officer.   Cline was  booked into the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
