PORT HUENEME, CA – The City of Port Hueneme wants to remind its citizens of two easy ways to communicate with their local government about everything from a broken sprinkler in a city park to a fire hazard on private property.
The Request Tracker is a web-based tool that citizens can use to report concerns to the city at any time of the day or night. Simply by visiting the city’s web page, (https://www.ci.port- hueneme.ca.us/) and clicking on the “Report a Concern” icon at the bottom, users can be taken to a page where they can report to the proper city department on topics such as code enforcement (for instance, illegal dumping, improper storage of hazardous waste, graffiti on private property), parks and recreation (damage to playground equipment or concerns about the health of trees) or public works (potholes, damaged street signs and street lights that are out).
The form goes directly to the department in charge and will be dealt with appropriately. The citizen will be given a link so they can check back on how the issue has been resolved.
“We want to be responsible to our citizens and make it easy for them to let us know what we can do to improve the city,” said Charles Peretz, Deputy City Manager. “There are also forms to fill out if you want to praise a city employee or have concerns about their performance.”
The city also has a central phone number, 805-986-6500, which provides a menu with options to contact all city operations.
