    Port Hueneme | Residential Burglary and Stolen Vehicle

    Port Hueneme Police Department – Incident Press Release

    On May 3, 2020 at 3:10 AM, Officers from the Port Hueneme Police Department responded to a residential burglary in progress, in the 600 Block of Pearson Road. The resident told the 9-1-1 Dispatcher that someone was attempting to break into her back door.

    The officers arrived in less than two minutes and as they approached the residence on foot, they located two subjects laying down in the front seat of a vehicle parked in front of the residence.   The Subjects were detained while other officers cleared the back yard of the residence.

    During the investigation the vehicle, which did not have any license plates on it was discovered to have been stolen from Santa Barbara.  There was also property located in the vehicle which had been stolen from inside the residence.

    The suspect had gained entry into the garage of the residence by prying the door open.  There was evidence the suspect were trying to pry open the back door also. 

    Silvestre Virruga Age 25, from Oxnard and Martin Ipatzi, Age 27, from Oxnard were both arrested for committing a residential burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.

    Both were transferred to the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $50,000.00.
