Port Hueneme Residents Must Read! | VC Alert Notification System

IF WE CAN’T REACH YOU, WE CAN’T ALERT YOU

VC Alert is an emergency alert notification system that may be used to deliver alerts to residents. The emergency notification system enables officials to provide essential information quickly when there is a threat to the health and safety of residents. The system allows us to instantly contact thousands of residents via their registered phone numbers.

This can include: Evacuation Notices, Tsunamis, Terrorist Attacks, Floods, Public Health Alerts, Public Safety Alerts, and Road Closures.

The emergency notification system database currently includes all listed and unlisted landline telephone numbers. This DOES NOT INCLUDE CELL PHONES. YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CELL PHONE TO RECEIVE ALERTS ON YOUR CELL PHONE. This system is separate from the Amber Alert notifications you commonly receive on your cell phones.

Notices can be sent in up to twelve different languages.

There is no cost to register additional phone numbers in the VC Alert database. VC Alert is a free service provided by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services and the City of Port Hueneme. Keep in mind, if you register a cellular phone number, call and text messaging charges may apply. The County of Ventura is not responsible for any charges that may be incurred as a result of receiving these alerts.
