    Port Hueneme | Victim stabbed in leg

    On 12-28-19, at approximately 5PM its responded to the area of the 500 block of East Surfside Drive regarding a stabbing victim. The suspect was described as being a Hispanic male in his 20’s with a thin mustache, wearing a grey shirt and blue jean pants, in possession of a fishing pole, last seen fleeing the area on foot north on Ventura Road.

    Officers conducted a search of the surrounding area and located a subject matching the description of the stabbing suspect, later identified as 20 year old Port Hueneme resident Alejandro Isaiah Ramos, in the area of Hueneme Road at 5th Street. Ramos was detained and during a subsequent search of Ramos, Officers located a large straight blade knife concealed on his person which appeared to be stained with what was believed to be the victim’s blood.

    Officers made contact with the victim at the scene and during the investigation discovered the victim had sustained a single non-life threatening stab wound to his leg. The victim advised officers prior to the stabbing, he had been present on the Port Hueneme Pier with his daughter when he observed the suspect disturbing and challenging other patrons to fight.  The victim contacted the suspect and words were exchanged.  The victim walked off of the pier with his daughter and was followed by the suspect who confronted him in front Surfside Seafood and an altercation ensued. During the Altercation the suspect retrieved a large knife from his possession, stabbed the victim one time in the leg and fled the area on foot.

    The victim as well as an additional witness participated in an infield line up identification and were able to positively identify Alejandro Ramos as being the suspect who had committed the stabbing.

    Ramos was placed under arrest for violation of sections 245 (a) (1) PC-Assault with a deadly weapon, 21310 PC-Possession of a dirk of dagger knife and was transported to the Ventura County Jail.
