On September 26, 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit concluded an investigation of Gerald Madamba from Porter Ranch. Madamba was believed to be involved in the sales of methamphetamine and cocaine to residents of Ventura County.

In August 2019, detectives conducted a narcotics sales investigation and identified Porter Ranch resident Gerald Madamba as a person supplying narcotics to residents of Ventura County. Based on evidence collected during the investigation, detectives were able to obtain search warrants for Madamba’s residence located in the 11000 Block of Ravenna Lane in Porter Ranch, his vehicle and two different businesses. The businesses were located in Chatsworth and Northridge.

On September 26, 2019, Detectives assigned to the City of Moorpark’s Special Enforcement Detail detained Madamba during a traffic enforcement stop. Madamba was found to be in possession of approximately $19,000 in cash and a small quantity of cocaine. Madamba was arrested and transported to Ventura County for processing.

Following Madamba’s arrest, Detectives executed search warrants at his residence and two businesses.  Detectives found Madamba  was operating an elaborate illegal pill pressing operation   out of one of the businesses located in the 9600 Block of Owensmouth Avenue, Chatsworth. The illegal operation involved sophisticated equipment and precursors used for the manufacturing of illegally pressed prescription pills and illicit ecstasy pills.

In all, detectives seized 1,187 grams of methamphetamine, 158 grams of MDMA, 36 grams of cocaine, over 2500 illegally manufactured pills, over $100,000 in cash and a pill pressing machine.

Additionally, detectives seized over 44 pounds of powder,  which  included amphetamine  powder and precursor powders used in the manufacturing and pressing of pills.

Madamba was subsequently booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for various narcotics charges. Madamba’s bail was set at $750,000 and is pending court proceedings.

Prescription pills obtained both legally and illegally are extremely addictive and are a contributor to both fatal and non-fatal overdoses taking place in Ventura County. The Narcotics Unit is committed to aggressively target narcotics sales and help combat prescription pill/opiate overdoses in Ventura County. Detectives from the Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit and Investigators with the District Attorney’s Office assisted and continue to assist with the ongoing investigation.
