Tim Pompey has just released his ninth book of fiction, a book of short stories titled “Primitive Terrain.”

Following the trends of his most recent books in which he delves into the odd, the magical, and the ghostly, Pompey has written a series of stories that explore unusual themes like shape shifting, the crumbling future of Florida, and one very strange encounter with a teenage boy who arrives in late summer in a small Nevada town and prophesies that a flood is coming.

“The book works off a premise about survival under duress,” said Pompey. “I’ve deliberately chosen three extreme locales, put people into those locales, and built stories primitive.terrainaround them.”

Those locales include northern Minnesota in December, Florida’s collapse 85 years in the future (hint: the pirates are winning!), and scorching hot Nevada in August.

“The stories challenge belief and faith or the lack thereof,” Pompey explained, “and how sometimes you can believe in something, or not believe, and end up some place completely unexpected.”

“Primitive Terrain” is available on both Amazon and Kindle. For a listing of Pompey’s other books, check out his website at: www.amazon.com/author/booksbytimpompey
