    Probation Violation: 2 Arrested In Oxnard

    SUBJECT:     Arrests for Loaded Firearm and Ammunition

    LOCATION:   2100 E. Gonzales Road, Oxnard

    SUSPECTS:  Julio Cervantes, 23-year-old Oxnard resident

                           Luis Ornelas, 28-year-old Oxnard resident  

    On 7/4/21, at around 1:00 AM, a Patrol Officer conducted a traffic stop on a pick-up truck in the 2100 block of E. Gonzales Road. The driver, Luis Ornelas, was determined to be on searchable probation. The Officer conducted a search of the vehicle pursuant to the search terms and located a loaded 9mm P80 handgun inside. The passenger, Julio Cervantes, was arrested for possession of the loaded firearm, a felony. Additionally, Luis Ornelas was arrested for being a felon in possession of ammunition.
