On January 12, 2022 at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a suspected traffic infraction.  Officers conducted records checks of the occupants and learned that the passenger, Jason Henderson, is on felony probation for committing a battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Henderson is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to his felony conviction.  As officers began to remove Henderson from the vehicle to conduct a probation search, officers observed a firearm on the floorboard of the vehicle.  Officers removed both occupants from the vehicle and recovered the firearm, a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Officers conducted a records check on the recovered firearm and learned that it was reported stolen in the city of Oxnard.  Officers arrested Henderson for several firearms related charges.  Officers arrested the driver, Tili Meshach, for allowing the loaded firearm in the vehicle.
