Proud Dads Work alongside Kids at Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals

OXNARD, CA June 21, 2020 – This Father’s Day, proud dads celebrate sharing employment alongside their daughters at Dignity Health St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH) and St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC). It is through their dedication and commitment to compassionate care that their children decided to pursue careers in the medical field.

At SJRMC, pharmacy tech, Raul Lansang’s commitment to caring inspired his two daughters, RaeAnne Lagman, Pharmacy Tech, and Ruth Villanueva, Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit to follow in his footsteps.

“Our dad is the epitome of a wonderful father. He goes above and beyond for the people he loves,” said RaeAnne and Ruth about their dad. “He inspires us to be humble, to work hard, to love what we do, to be kind to others, and to appreciate what life has to offer. We are so thankful that we get to call him dad every day.”

At SJPVH, Radiology Tech, Lauren Hallinan credits her career in health care to her loving father, Patrick Hallinan, Imaging Logistics Tech, who has been an SJRMC employee for nearly forty years.

“My dad is dedicated, hardworking, and the reason I am in health care,” says Lauren. “As a kid, I would sometimes get to visit with him on his lunch break, and I enjoyed seeing him in his element. When I was thirteen, he arranged for me to shadow one of his colleagues, and that’s when I knew radiology is what I wanted to do.”

The two generations often work in different departments or different hospitals, but share an appreciation for health care and giving of themselves to care for others.

“When I first started working for Dignity Health, everyone called me Jeff Perry’s daughter, and I realized it’s such a privilege to have such a great dad,” said SJPVH respiratory therapist Natalie Perry of her dad, Jeff Perry, Director of Information Technology. “My dad is one of the hardest working people I know, and he has taught me the importance of putting your whole heart into everything you do. I’m honored to call him my dad and to be able to work with him.”

These families share a love for caring for our community and do it alongside one another.
